Comparison of physiological effects of osmotic stress on two wheat genotypes

چکیده
Revealing stress tolerance mechanisms in plants would contribute to the selection of crop varieties with a higher capacity for surviving unfavourable environments. In this regard, it is essential identify possible physiological features that might be beneficial increasing plant resistance stress. Two contrasting common wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars different drought were subjected 48 h treatment 20% polyethylene glycol 8000, which provoked an extra degree osmotic and oxidative as well distinct responses. Better water retention leaves lesser extent membrane injury found cultivar ‘Guinness’ compared ‘Niki’ correlated increased adjustment by accumulating amounts proline antioxidant scavenging former. Compared soluble sugars total free amino acids, contributed greater preserving leaf water. It was speculated such combination set genotypic advantage cultivar, could also determine better performance under conditions field.

The effect of microbial inoculants on physiological responses of two wheat cultivars under salt stress
Salinity is one of the most important abiotic stresses that limit crop growth and productivity. This study focuses on the effects of different strains of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) on the physiological responses of two wheat cultivars under normal and salt stress conditions. The wheat cultivars selected include one which is tolerant to salinity (Kavir) and one which is sensitiv...
